Dressing the boys

Play, make-believe, role-play – all of these are essential ingredients for a child’s imagination. I have done a post on a dressing-corner before but have found that the dress-up areas I have found tend to be a little more girl-focused. My boys however LOVE prancing around in funny hats and glasses, so in preparation for The Bruwery’s own garderobe {to be unveiled later this week!} here are some boy-ish pics.

2009-01-28_10100_5509Love this clever idea by Mary-Ellen’s Girls – twigs fixed to simple wooden bars to create a little dress-up corner.  The 2 layers are also a great idea: lower for hanging clothes and upper for hats and other accessories.family-sponge-13-550x717Very sweet and very simple. A coat rack, a bin to keep hats and things and a mirror are all you need! Try to find something to re-purpose from your local thrift store or keep your eyes on Mr Price Home – they have amazing one-off finds like these every now and again.

trunkI really like the idea of a trunk, a place where everything can be stored out of sight. While this one might not be able to stand the test of time {not in my house anyway!} it does send my mind racing with all kinds of wonderful ideas! via BuyCostumes.com.

That is about the bulk of it. So as you can see I don’t really have a lot to work with when it comes to boys dress-up ideas. So please come back on Friday and see what I’ve come up with – I am so excited I can hardly contain myself!
