There is such a wonderfully peaceful thing about folding origami that I couldn’t really stop myself once I started this project. There are many different patterns (have a look at the tutorials on this website) but I chose doves because of the calm they symbolize.
One of our fig trees lost this beautiful branch recently and I immediately saw a great handing opportunity for all the doves. Some heavy duty thread worked perfectly – they sway beautifully and light when there is a breeze!
I folded all the birds in black, except for this last one: an acid yellow and turquoise scrapbooking paper provides a vibrant and unexpected pop of colour.
An origami mobile like this can make the perfect center piece to a dinner table – who says you have to a have a chandelier?!
Happy folding!
