Make your Modern Home Office

Recently, we did a post on 7 inspiring styles for a home office: one to suit a creative, one for someone in need a calm and serene space to concentrate in, modern spaces and more traditional spaces. While we did our research we found this beautiful image of an inspiring and modern home office that can easily fit into a room on its own or be incorporated into another living area in the home as a study corner. Let us show you how to easily make your modern home office with these items that we have found locally and online.

The key to this look is the neutral colour palette combined with the graphic elements and the clean lines. Choose a soft accent colour to complement the white and greys and use that in a few of the accessories. The soft minty green in the image adds just enough freshness without overpowering the desk. A touch of furriness adds a bit of warmth to the cooler palette.

The main item of a home office is the desk, so make sure that you invest in a great piece, like this solid wood Marte desk from @home

A statement chair and suitable desk lamp complete the essential items: Scandi back dining chair in oak from @home | Switch utility light from @home

Now, to decorate: we are completely smitten with these bird house wall shelves from Mr Price Home. They come in a set of 3 and are made of MDF. Lovely!

Gorgeous and graphic

The crisp white desk, chair and pin board are subtly contrasted with the exposed wood wall. The texture of the wood grain adds warmth to the office and is echoed by the desk lamp. This fresh colour palette is achieved only with accessories so can be changed whenever you feel like it. madefromscratch

Trend setter

This home office plays with geometric and triangular shapes on the wall and in the art work on the desk. The peachy tone contrasts beautifully against the light and dark grey focal wall. bettinaholst
